Specialty Coffees

Trivalli’s Specialty and Differentiated Coffees line focuses on Brazilian Arabica lots that go beyond the mainstream cup profile. We work with selected partners to identify coffees with higher cup scores, distinct origins, specific processes, or unique stories that can add value to your range.

What we mean by specialty & differentiated

Depending on availability and project requirements, we can offer:

  • Lots with higher SCA cup scores
  • Coffees with distinctive sensory profiles or specific terroirs
  • Differentiated processes such as honey, natural with controlled fermentation, washed, and similar methods
  • Coffees linked to particular farms, cooperatives, or producer groups
  • Certified coffees, including organic, Fairtrade, and others, where partners and volumes allow

Our goal is not to compete with tiny microlots, but to identify realistic and repeatable options that still bring differentiation and story to your portfolio.

Origins and profiles

We mainly work with Arabica from:

  • Sul de Minas
  • Cerrado Mineiro
  • Mogiana and other traditional regions
  • Emerging regions or specific farms when projects demand it

For each opportunity, we pay close attention to cup profile consistency, story, and the price to quality relationship.

Volumes and availability

Specialty and differentiated coffees are usually available in more limited volumes than our Core Line, Mainstream Arabica. Availability depends on:

  • Harvest calendars in each region
  • Weather and quality conditions in the crop
  • Producer or cooperative capacity and commitments

For this reason, we prefer to plan ahead with clients whenever possible, defining profiles and approximate volumes before the harvest.

Typical applications

These coffees are well suited for:

  • Single-origin offerings in espresso or filter
  • Highlight coffees within a roastery’s portfolio
  • Seasonal or limited editions
  • Hero components in more complex blends
  • Retail and private-label projects that require a stronger story at the point of sale
How we work: selection, samples and approval

When a client is interested in specialty or differentiated coffees, we:

  1. Discuss desired profiles, target price ranges, and volumes.
  2. Search options with our partners and prepare preliminary offers.
  3. When needed, send samples and cupping notes to align cup profile and quality.
  4. Once a lot is chosen, we reserve the volume, agree commercial terms, and move to export.

Throughout the process, we keep communication clear so that expectations, quality, and timelines stay aligned.

Packaging, logistics and Incoterms

Specialty and differentiated coffees are normally packed in:

  • 60 kg jute bags with inner lining, or
  • Other formats, such as smaller bags or different liners, when our partners can provide them

Shipments are made from main Brazilian ports under FOB, CFR, or CIF, depending on the structure agreed with each client. As with our core line, Trivalli coordinates consolidation, documentation, and follow-up from Brazil to your port.
